Luxury tariff cut stirs debate

Commentators debate the ramifications of a tax cut on luxury goods imports to China.
China is considering a cut in import duties on some luxury goods, the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) said recently. A spokesman at MOFCOM, Yao Jian said on June 27 that key ministries are in agreement on the plan and that it is just a “matter of time”.
