Orange Sky – tapping the mainland's cinema goers
- Published 15 Dec 2011
The cinema network operator is focusing expansion efforts on mainland China to drive growth.
Orange Sky (1132:HKG), the cinema network operator, hopes that by tapping into the vast potential of mainland China's cinema market it can support strong revenue growth. The company therefore aims to ramp up expansion in China's lower-tier cities to become one of the top-three film exhibition players in China by 2013. Even so, such a strategy is expected to weigh on operating margins for some time. However, expansion, coupled with steady performance through Orange Sky's joint venture partners in Taiwan and Singapore, is expected to produce revenue growth of between 10-15% YoY for 2011.
