Ministry of Health under fire over food safety, again

The ministry has attracted widespread criticism for appearing too lax over food safety after frozen food was recalled for containing deadly bacteria.
China's ongoing food safety scares took another twist last week when frozen dumplings were recalled for containing life-threatening bacteria. However, the Ministry of Health deemed the level of bacteria too low and responded by raising the stipulated level of bacteria present in frozen food. The response mirrored events in June when the ministry lowered milk quality standards, which attracted widespread criticism.
