The cause of a green future for China now has a dedicated champion. Li Keqiang, a vice-premier and a leading protégé of Hu Jintao, the Communist party boss, is injecting fresh vigour into his portfolio for renewable energy sources. Though little noticed outside China, this development is of crucial importance and has material implications for a host of Chinese clean energy companies.
