China funds picking up

Investors are looking ever more upbeat about a China rebound, as reflected in a positive performance by China-related funds and growing momentum in fund flows to the country’s equities.

China-related funds showed renewed vigour in recent weeks – all producing positive net asset values from mid March onwards (see Chart 1.1). The sentiment change was perhaps pinned on China’s commitment to 8% economic growth announced at the National People’s Congress in early March, said EPFR senior analyst Cameron Brandt, as well as faith that stimulus measures are kicking in.
