Flows to China gather pace

An upsurge in fund flows to China show that faith in a rebound is gaining momentum.
On April 1, China surpassed Brazil as the largest recipient of BRIC country fund flows and momentum has been gathering since (Chart 1). High domestic loan growth figures have provided investors and fund managers with tangible evidence in early Q2 that China's stimulus plan is being implemented, said Cameron Brandt, a senior analyst at EPRF. Recent flows to China equity funds are also being driven by the perception that the US, China's main export market, is beginning to turn a corner, he adds.
