Soybean import demand to moderate

Imports to China, the world's largest soybean consumer, look set to ease off in coming months from recent highs.
China is the world's biggest consumer and importer of soybeans. Its demand is an international price setter for a commodity imported mainly from the US, Brazil and Argentina. So large is Chinese soybean demand that alongside Chinese imports of iron ore, coal and fertiliser, it has a major impact on international sea freight rates as measured by the Baltic Dry Index.
