Shanda - Bambook to erode margins before boosting content sales

The online media giant has launched its e-reader device at a loss in the hope it can drive traffic to boost online literature sales.

Overview:Shanda Interactive Entertainment (Nasdaq:SNDA), the online media giant, rolled out its e-reader across China on September 28, after a trial launch which kicked off in July. The device, known as Bambook, has a six-inch screen which uses electronic ink as opposed to a light display, and comes enabled with 3G and Wifi.
