Quanjude: a sitting duck

The group, best known for its Peking duck restaurants, is so far having limited success stepping out of Beijing.
Background: China Quanjude Group (002186:SZ) listed on Shenzhen in November 2007, and is best known for its mid to high-end Peking duck restaurant, Quanjude. It has 16 directly-operated and 58 franchise Quanjude duck restaurants – five of which are overseas. It also owns three small restaurant brands – Fangshan, Fengzeyuan and Sichuan Restaurant, which serve a range of regional Chinese food. The company also operates duck rearing and other food processing businesses.
