Tingyi's recent success with beverages may help offset margin declines seen currently in its noodle business.

Background:Tingyi (Cayman Islands) Holdings (0322:HKG) is a convenience food producer headquartered in Tianjin that distributes its products across mainland China, Hong Kong and the UK under the brand Master Kong. Instant noodles account for almost half of total sales and Tingyi is thought to hold over half of the instant noodle market in China, according to ACNielson, a consultancy. Tingyi's beverages, however, are growing in popularity and starting to make up a major part of overall revenues.
