Changyou's one-game band
- Published 17 Apr 2009
Sohu's online games spin off registered the most successful US stock debut in almost a year. But is it possible that Changyou has been hyped?
To get a sense of how upbeat investors can be over China’s online games market, consider the listing of Changyou, a spin-off from internet company Sohu.com. In March, it registered the most successful US stock debut in almost a year. The listing raised $120m (Rmb 820m, €91.1m, £80.1m) and the company’s shares closed up 25% to $20 each. It was only the second company to go public on Nasdaq in 2009.
