Property price conundrum

How long until tightening measures in the property market lead to significant price declines? And will the tightening continue?
Pan Xiangdong, chief economist of Everbright Securities, doesn't think current policies are enough to force property developers to lower prices drastically. The supply of property will not grow much in coming months and demand will grow as buyers have held off in anticipation of price declines. Moreover, governments printed money last year to finance spending that will continue to push up asset prices through this year, he said.
