China is expected to launch a trial programme next month to enable network convergence of telecommunications, TV and internet following the rejection of five drafts in recent weeks. The move marks a new phase in the turf war between the State Administration of Radio Film and Television (SARFT) and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology for control of converging media portals.
