ZTE - moving fast into handsets

The network operator is hoping that mobile handset revenues will grow to half of group sales from the current 20%, within the next five years.
Background:ZTE Corporation (000063:SZ, 0763:HKG), is China's largest telecom equipment provider. Mobile handset sales made up around 22% of total group sales in 2009 - and the segment is experiencing fast growth. Domestically, ZTE ranks fourth in China's homegrown 3G standard, TD-SCDMA, with 7.9% of this handset market. At present, the group is the major 3G handset provider for China Mobile.
