China Confidential is a research service from the Financial Times providing an indispensable compass for investors and corporations navigating the Chinese investment landscape.

We survey hundreds of consumers, manufacturers, logistics companies, employers and underground banks each month, and use our network of researchers in nine cities to generate grassroots research on the big topics of the moment, often yielding calls that challenge conventional wisdom. We also conduct custom research for individual clients using our network of researchers, our survey capacity and other tools.

Unlike research produced by investment banks and brokers, we have no vested interest in promoting particular views. We also eschew over-simplified bull vs bear analyses, using our own findings to provide objective insight into the real state of the Chinese economy.
