Recent CPI and PPI data show no signs of inflation, but how long until the trend reverses?
The People's Bank of China, the central bank, expressed concern over inflation creeping in after the third quarter, in a report published on July 28. At that time, it had already implemented some measures such as bond issuances, to drain liquidity. However, recently released July CPI and PPI data show no sign of inflation, sparking debate over whether the government acted too hastily.
