What's hot with China's consumers?

In this section we usually conduct an analysis of the competitive landscape between companies in a certain consumer sector. For this issue, we decided to ring the changes. We asked our network of contacts inside China to give us their hot tips. What products or services - preferably little noticed by others - are selling really well, we asked. We got a long list in reply, picked eight which seemed to elucidate a broader theme, and did some extra research. What follows is a distillation of "Consumer Hits".
