- Published 17 Sep 2009

Zhang Hanlin, professor at the University of International Business and Economics, says export and import data in August engender hope for China’s foreign trade enterprises. However, he cautions that the foundations of the rebound are not yet solid and data from September and October will be key in determining whether demand in the US and Europe is turning sustainably upward. He worries that when western countries call off their stimulus packages, China’s exports may slump again.
