Kerry Brown, China expert and Senior Fellow at Chatham House, a UK think tank, follows China’s surge in overseas direct investment and identifies four rules that characterise its flows.
Gerard Lyons, chief economist of Standard Chartered bank, said at a meeting in Greece in 2007 that “while the era of 'Made in China' may be drawing to a close in the next few years, the era of 'Owned by China' is just beginning.”
