Uncertainties ahead

Analysts debate China's economic outlook for the second half.
Chen Yuhui, head of research at China Merchants Fund, finds no reason to be upbeat about investment opportunities in China in the second half. New fixed asset investment projects and loan growth have been down for several months, which will limit investment driven growth. Household income hasn't grown quickly enough to significantly drive domestic consumption. And the debt crisis in Europe, which makes up 20% of China's exports, is deemed to hurt China in the coming months.
